| Emergency Call 911 Nonemergency (610)926-2999 Chief Scott Eaken The Northern Berks Regional Police Department provides police services to Maidencreek Township, Ontelaunee Township and Leesport Borough. Regionalization has proven to be a cost effect way to provide efficient police services to three communities. On May 1, 1991 the Maidencreek/Ontelaunee Joint Police Department was created and immediately became a success story for both municipalities. On January 1, 1998, Leesport Borough Police Department and Maidencreek/Ontelaunee Joint Police Department consolidated, forming the Northern Berks Regional Police Department. The consolidation has allowed the department to provide special services to all three communities, while still maintaining protection to all residential, commercial and industrial areas. The department currently maintains a roster of thirteen full time uniformed officers protecting approximately 9500 residents and patrol approximately 75 square miles of roadway.
