| Maidencreek Township Board of Supervisor Special Meeting January 31, 2006, 7:31 PM Present: Roy Timpe, Robert Kopfer, Claude Beaver, Eugene Orlando, Jr. – Roland & Schlegel, Tom Unger – Systems Design Engineering, Inc., Diane Hollenbach – Recording Secretary Guests: Keith Shuman, Mary Dymeck, Ron & Gloria Kemmerer, Harold Burgert Roy Timpe called the January 31, 2006 meeting of the Maidencreek Township Board of Supervisors to order at 9: 30 PM in the Maidencreek Township Municipal Building. PARK AND RECREATION ORDINANCE A motion was made by Claude Beaver, seconded by Robert Kopfer, to adopt Ordinance 201 creating a Park and Recreation Board. Roy Timpe asked for questions on the motion. Mary Dymeck stated that she does not agree with Section 5 of the ordinance that allows the Supervisors to spend Park and Recreation money for general purposes. Roy Timpe stated that the Township has a line of credit at Leesport Bank that has not been drawn down on during his term. If the Township ever got into a position where there was a cash flow problem, the Supervisors would prefer to have the latitude of using Park and Recreation money instead of drawing down on a line of credit. All members voted, "Aye." Motion carried. PARK AND RECREATION BOARD Mary Dymeck asked how the Board was going to establish the Park and Recreation Board member's terms. Diane Hollenbach suggested that Hether Quillman be given the longest term since her term has expired and she would normally be the next to be reappointed to the longest term and the terms for the rest of the board, (two members expire in 2006 and two members expire in 2007) be established based on past attendance. Mary Dymeck felt that the terms should be established in the order that the Board members would expire under the old resolution. A motion was made by Claude Beaver, seconded by Robert Kopfer, to adopt resolution 10-2006 appointing the following people to the Park and Recreation Board: Hether Quillman with a term expiring 12/31/2010, Keith Shuman with a term expiring 12/31/2009, Mary Dymeck with a term expiring 12/31/2008, David Anspach with a term expiring 12/31/2007 and Robert Ramsey with a term expiring 12/31/2006. All members voted, "Aye." Motion carried. Since there was no further business, a motion was made by Robert Kopfer, seconded by Claude Beaver, to adjourn the January 31, 2006 meeting of the Maidencreek Township Board of Supervisors. All members voted, “Aye.” Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:40 P.M. Diane Hollenbach Transcribing Secretary |
