SUMMARY:County of Berks 2026 Action Plan Public Hearing Notice
DESCRIPTION:The County of Berks invites citizens\, public agencies and other interested parties to participate in the development of the County’s 2026 Action Plan by participating in a virtual public hearing on Tuesday\, September 2nd at 7:00 PM via teleconference utilizing Zoom video conferencing software. An invitation and instructions on how to join the Authority’s teleconference (Zoom) meeting may be found on the Authority’s website at www.berkspa.gov/departments/berksra. \nThe purpose of the hearing is to obtain the views and comments of individuals and organizations regarding the overall housing and community development needs of the County and review of the past program performance. The information will be used in preparation for the County’s 2026 Action Plan. \nFor Federal Fiscal Year 2026\, the County expects to receive a minimum of $2\,200\,000 from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and a minimum of $200\,000 from the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Program. The County are also eligible to participate in the Section 108 Program. Section 108 is the loan guarantee provision of the CDBG Program whereby the County may borrow up to five times its latest CDBG Program grant for eligible activities. \nAll citizens\, public agencies and other interested parties may participate in this hearing\, phone-in during the hearing to offer their views and comments. Written comments should be mailed to the Berks County Redevelopment Authority\, 400 East Wyomissing Avenue\, Ground Floor – Suite 2\, Mohnton\, PA 19540. Persons requiring assistance due to hearing\, speech\, or vision impairments should notify the Berks County Redevelopment Authority at 610-487-6325 or 610-478-6335 (TDD).
